Re: My Start-up Sounds, System (Actions) Sounds, And Hard Drive Music Start 1-2 Sec. Late >>>

Hello:  Thx. For Waiting.  My Nvidia HDMI Cable Is Good Without Any Lag Even Through The Yamaha Surround Reciever.  All CD Or DVD's In The PC Player Start Right On Time.  The Lag Is From Internal Hard Drive Or Win.7 System Sounds Only. Any Other Advice Is Welcome.  Remember, I Detached My Back Up External Hard Drive Unsafely 3x's And That Gave Me The Lag.  I Have Reinstalled All The Newer Audio/Video Drivers From The Home Sites Twice With No Luck On Fixing The Lag.  I Think The Win.7 OS Is Out Of Sync.  Can I Fix That Without A Complete Restore?

Hmmmm...have you tried uninstalling the Sound device, then restarting the PC to let it re-plug and play the device? Also, when you updated the latest drivers, did you first uninstall the previous software/drivers?

Oh, and if you know the date that this lag started happening, you could try using Microsoft System Restore to role your PC back to settings before this happened.

Good, That Is New.  Tell Me How To Uninstall The Device And Re-Plug The Device?  Also, I'll Uninstall My Drivers 1st Then ReInstall Them Just To Make Sure.  Thanks Again.

To uninstall the device, go to Device Manager and highlight the sound device, then click the Uninstall button. Then restart your computer. You may have to reinstall the sound driver too.

Here is an HP support document that should help too (lots of other things to try):

Yes, Upon The Restart Will I Have To Go To Safe Mode F5/F? And Then Restore The Devices And Drivers? Any Tip's? Also, There Are 4 Nvidia HD Audio's Listed & A Soundblaster Etx..  Unistall Them All?  And I Did Restore Back About A Week From The Crash But It Didn't Fix The Lag/KInk/Sync. Any Thing Else?  Thanks A Bunch!

Wow, you have a lot of audio options apparantly, or maybe there is a driver issue occuring. If you aren't using the Soundblaster card, don't worry about uninstalling it. Try the NVIDIA one first.

That is definitely great news! Glad to hear you got it working.

Can you select the post with the steps you tried that finally got your sound working, and mark it as "solved"? This way when someone else has the same issue as you, they can find this thread and go to the post that helped most.

Thanks!
