Replaced Graphics card...what's the MB connection for?

I bought an HP Pavilion Elite d5000t ATX  a few yesars back and it's still going strong.  However the video card cooling fan crapped out so I upgraded to a new vidoe card.  But the old card, 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9500GS (HP part number  5189-4536) had an extra two pin connector from the card to the motherboard.

It's bugging the crap out of me what this thing was for.  Anybody know?

Thanks

Hi Johnny,

Look at the below image.  Does the red arrow indicate where the 2 pin connector wire from the video card was connected to the motherboard?  If yes, then it is used for routing digital audio to the video card for HDMI audio out.  Some of the older NVIDIA video cards with HDMI needed a SPDIF connection to support HDMI audio.

BTW, the NVIDIA GS 9500 was known for having a faulty fan.
