Chrem, your friend is correct. The computer requires a low-profile video card. However, depending on what you want to do with the computer, it is not easy to upgrade to a good card. The size of the case makes airflow a major problem. Frankly, Slimline models are not meant to be upgraded. As stated, the size of the case doesn't allow for it.
As for the PSU, it is difficult to upgrade without some modifications to the case.
Personally, I don't recommend upgrading the computer.

Open your PC and verify the total wattage on the power supply label. Get the part number off the PSU as well. You'll need at least 250 watts to run this HD4350 video card.

I was trying to upgrade my S5123w too. I have the card, but I'm not sure of the power supply. I called a local store. They said I might need TFX power supply. They had two listed. One was 270 watts. It didn't have exact fit but the screw holes match up. He said it would work but a little bit of the inside can be seen.

The other one was 220 Watts, but is supposed to be exact replacement:

They said they have an upgrade version at 250 Watts. He sent me a link, but I'm waiting for it to come up. He said to wait a day or two.

I'm not sure if it is worth risking it be seen or if I should go with the one that is a little more.

Hi,
Look here at HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the newer slimline models with a 220 watt power supply. These cards were manufactured specially for HP slimline PCs with 220 watt power supplies.
1. You may not like the HP prices.
2. You may not like the video performance for games.
