Hi everyone, first time posting so I hope that someone can help me. I have a HP m7270.uk Media Center PC. I recently bought a capture device for use with the PC but I am unable to get any sound through the 'blue' Audio In connector at the rear of my system (6 connectors). If I plug in to the mic, and choose microphone from my capture software, I get sound. I have tried multiple devices and reconfiguring the sound software. I read somewhere that this port can be use as an output port for speakers as well but I just can't see how to configure it as an input port.
Help!

Dave, welcome to the forum.
I have used a capture device, Pinnacle Dazzle, in the past. I can remember having difficulty getting the sound to record, also. If I am correct, I had to go into the Control Panel / Sound and change the settings. I simply can't remember exactly what I did. Try this to see if it helps.

HI Old_Geekster,
thanks for the reply. I've tried everything to do with sound settings that can possibly be done, with both the Realtek GUI and the XP one. I think it's something to do with the fact that the blue 'audio in' port at the back can be set as an input or an output port and it's stuck on the latter.
Dave.
