Toggle keys on HP keyboard (Touchsmart Desktop) for sound adjustment

 Until recently, when I used the toggle keys to adjust the sound of my internal speakers I had a visual check on the level set  appearing on the screen.  It no longer appears, although I can get a visual indicator using the speaker sound icon.  How can I restore the earlier easier visual?

What is the computer model you have, can you please let know?

I think you should have something available on the HP recovery manager, not sure if in the software of hardware driver installation, can you please check if you find something related to OSD?

Thanks for your comment.  My PC is a Desktop Touchsmart HP 300-1000 running Windows7 and so far as I know the OS and HP Advisor software  is up-to-date .

As it happens, the visual indicator sliding bar showing sound volume setting using the keyboard toggle (HP keyboard) has now reappeared!  I asume that this visual indicator is part of the HP Advisor software set?  I.e. nothing to do with Windows 7.

I am stil curious about what initiates this pop-up and what I should do if it disappears again.

Hello Christopher,

It does not have anything to do with WIndows 7 and also nothing to do with HP Advisor.

It is realted to the keyboard itself. Please check if you have inside the recovery manager program, under Software or Driver, anything related to the keyboardor OSD.

Also check under programs installed on your computer if you found any entry related to the OSD or Keyboard.

Let me know what you have found in there.
