The manual for the w2408h monitor says you can connect two inputs from different sources to the monitor at the same time (either DVI or HDMI and then also VGA). My HP Pavilion main computer is connected to the monitor using HDMI. I have connected my laptop computer (an Acer Aspire One netbook) to the monitor using the VGA cable. While my HP is running, I boot the Acer notebook and press the switch on the monitor to change the input to VGA. It works for a while: I can see the initial Windows logo (it's running XP), but after it starts to boot into the OS, the monitor seems to lose the VGA signal and switches back to HDMI.
I'm wondering if the resolution of the notebook monitor is the issue? It's 1024 x 600 at max resolution (10" screen).
Thanks for your help.
