I have an HP Pavilion Elite HPE 410f desktop computer and have purchased two HP W2072a monitors. Now I just need to know how to hook them up! The monitors came with VGA cables but the only "VGA" hookup I seem to have is with an adaptor to convert the VGA cord to DVI-D. The connector beside it is HDMI. The VGA connector and another one are covered so I assume there is nothing under them. How can I hook up both of my monitors? Please be gentle. I am only semi-literate in computer speak.
Would my best bet be to purchase a DVI-D cable for one monitor and a DVI-d to HDMI cable for the other?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Yes, you can only hook 2 monitors to the machine. VGA to DVI-D cable may not help, you need something to convert from analog (VGA) to digital (DVI)

The monitor each has 2 ports (VGA & DVI-D), perfect for this connection or buy a VGA-DVI converter for port #2 above.
Good luck.

I do not have a VGA hookup on my CPU. I only have DVI-D and HDMI. My current monitor (HP S2031) came with a converter for DVI-D from the VGA cord that came with the monitor. Could I go DVI-D to DVI-D and DVI-D to HDMI? I would not be opposed to purchasing a couple of cords.

Hi,
Well, that means HP has not updated this:

Anyway, you can use DVI-D and the HDMI-DVI adapter, no need any converter because from digital to digital.
Good luck.

Thank you so much for the info and the link. The ports on mine look just like those shown on the Graphics card.
