I HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMPUTER - Product HP Pavilion #p6724y Model# QP720AA#ABA OS - Windows 7 64-bit
I have had different problems with Microsoft Media Player since I purchased the computer less than a year ago. Previously it would RIP CD's, but the last time I took in to Best Buy they reinstalled the OS and although I can play CD's with Media Player when I try to RIP them, I get an error that the file cannot be found.
I tried Microsoft Web Site that said since the program is OEM with the HP computer it was an HP problem.
USED HP ON-LINE CHAT who tried to “Re-index” my music file
TYPED THE FOLLOWING IN RUN “%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player”
FOLLOWED THE STEPS AT - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/26107/how-to-reinst
No matter what I have tried I still am unable to RIP a CD.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

After many hours on the phone with HP and having their technician use "remote access" he also was unable to solve the problem and advised that since it is a "software" problem they would not cover the repairs. His suggestion was to purchase an HP Recovery Disk and reinstall the O.S. myself. At this point I am waiting for the disk in the mail.
