I'd put everything back together and go to "disable 7300GS" from the display adapter selection, then your monitor will have generic settings. Restart the computer again. Make sure the power to your cpu is plugged in.
THEN, shut down, install new card, start up with cd in cd/dvd slot, or when you are given the option, have the computer look for the latest driver online (mine did).
After it boots up and all is running, If the monitor is still not coming up, must be something not working with that card, a conflict of some sort, maybe try a differnet power connector.
If the monitor is up with those low display settings, that's good, then go to the dispaly driver section and find the driver for the new card.
Oh, and if you can, make sure there is power coming from the power supply to the mother board connector AND the cpu connector using a test light, some power supplies do get put together on a Friday ![]()

djrosen2,
I think you should follow my advice and get a NVIDIA card instead of using the ATI 5xxx. You also need to solve your memory problem on your other post.

Hi saydin82,
Review this posted document for background information.
Most of the modern video cards are going to require a power supply that is bigger than 300 watts with a few exceptions. However, video cards that don't require a biiger power supply might not give you the performance improvement that you are looking to achieve.
What applications are you using that need improved video performance?
