Video Graphics card compatibility

can someone help me and tell me which one of the following video graphics card compatible with my PC. I am not interested in gaming just want to replace my existing video graphics card since its fan is extremely noisy!

My PC Details:

PC: HP Pavilion media center m8175a

Motherboard: P5LP-LE

Max PSU: 300W

RAM: 3GB

Existing card: GEForce 7500LE

Graphics Cards:

1) Zotac GT210 512MB DDR2 DVI-I HDCP HDMI LP ($34.00)

2) Zotac GT210 1G DDR2 DVI-I HDCP HDMI LP Synergy Ed($39.00)

3) eVGA GT210 1G DDR3 LP DVI HDMI Heatsink PCIE ($35.00)

4) eVGA GT240 1G DDR3 DVI HDMI VGA  ($89.00)

Thank you for your help.

Re: Video Graphics card compatibility

Any of these cards should work just fine in your computer. The "LP" low profile cards may have issues with the bracket being too small for your computer unless they also come with a full size bracket. $89 for a GT240 1G DDR3 DVI HDMI VGA card seems high in price.

If you haven't already ordered/purchased that card, you may want to look at this EVGA 01G-P3-1313-KR GeForce 210 1GB DDR3 video card. It should fit in your computer without any issues.

Re: Video Graphics card compatibility

Thank you very much Frank,

It's already posted, but if I don't open the box and return it they'll give me full credit that I can use it in future.
I'll wait to receive the box and return it. However, they don't have the card that you mentioned and I am really desperate. I bought last week
Asus EAH5450 PCI-E 2.1 1G Silent DDR3 DVI HDMI DX11

I installed it but computer did not boot at all. The CPU Fan was working in normal speed but never shown the HP screen with BIOS version etc. From some posts here I thought that it might be incompatible with my PC.
Later, I got GEForce 6200 (125MB RAM) and installed it in my PC. This one works but the media center shows "TV Tuner not available". I don't know its relation with graphics card. I installed new version of nvida software for GEForece 6200 and check all update through HP website (BIOS etc).
but I could not get Live TV works. I installed back my noisy card(GEForece 7500LE) to check it. the Live TV worked well with that noisy one.
I want to get Fanless card. I'll search to see if I can find the card you mentioned near my place.

I really appreciate your help.

Re: Video Graphics card compatibility

These fancy modern computer systems and OSes are supposed to be able to allocate resources so that there are no hardware conflicts. In practice, this doesn't always happen and conflicts do occur. It is possible that your GF6200 was coflicting with the TV card and that is why the "TV tuner not available" message popped up.

If you are OK with the GF7500LE... you may be able to give its fan a new lease on life... remove the video card... take the fan off... blow out all the dirt from the fan... look for the ball or sleeve bearing (might be under a sticker) and place a drop or two of light machine oil on the bearing and work it in by spinning the fan at speed. This has worked for me in the past.

Re: Video Graphics card compatibility

Hi aaronl,

you should open your own thread.

Nevertheless from the specs of your pc:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02493378&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4320258

You have 1 PCI Express x16 slot for graphics card.
Your psu has 250W, so without changing the psu you don't have many possibilities.

I would stay at nvidia, brand is not important.
Check the requiremtns.

Re: Video Graphics card compatibility

 THANK YOU Frank,

I got the video card the same as you mentioned and installed it today. It is working. THANK YOU.

I am still getting the error for live TV("TV Tuner not available").  it may be related to muvee autoprocedure. I accidentally deleted it on Sunday.

thanks again,
