Really pissed, having the same problem with my w1907 monitor less than a year old. Flickers, goes black, doesn't wake up. Have to manually shut off and on until it stays on, but eventually goes through the same process. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this or if HP is doing anything about this problem?

I got the "no signal" message/blackout problem well before my warranty expired, but fixed the problem myself. In my case, it was an over-heated graphics card. On the Media Center m8120 I have, the graphics card has a little fan underneath it. The fan had stopped working. The monitor would work for a short while, then "no signal" and blackout would occur.
Here's how to find out whether the graphics card fan is the problem...
1. Turn off the computer and monitor.
2. Remove the side panel of the computer.
3. Use a portable fan, a mini fan, or any fan you have and direct it toward the inside of the chassis.
4. Restart the computer.
IF THE MONITOR STAYS ON, indefinitely, you know that it is the graphics card fan causing the blackout.
Check the specs for your computer on the HP website, and get a replacement graphics card. I got mine in an eBay auction. Changing the graphics card is VERY easy. (Make sure you are grounded when handling any computer components.) You probably have a friend or relative who can change it for you.
IF THE MONITOR DOESN'T STAY ON, it's probably the monitor.
That's what I am experiencing now. I don't get the "no signal" message... it just flickers a bit and goes black. I opened the panel and used my mini fan, and the monitor stayed black. Monitors are a lot more reasonably priced these days, so I opted for a 24" Acer.
My monitor had a fairly long life (just over 4 years), so I will bid it a fond farewell. It served me well.

Please, read my post and try my suggestions. You may not need a new monitor... just a new graphics card.

I found a w1907 flat screen monitor at a garage sale today. It does the same thing you all are reporting. It displays the desktop for a second, with the monitor's resolution box showing, then goes black. A few seconds later it reports no input. If you press the Menu and Auto buttons repeatedly, you can get it to display again for a second, then it goes black. During the one second that it is working, it looks really good. It does the same thing whether you use the DVI input or the VGA input. I tried it on two different computers, one WinXP and one Linux Mint.
Does anybody at HP know what specific part is failing to cause this common problem with the w1907?
