Windows 7 and Pavilion f1703

Just bought a hp Pavilion p6724y with Windows 7, and it won't recognize my pavilion f1703 monitor. Any solutions? Are there drivers I need to download?

Re: Windows 7 and Pavilion f1703

RAE, welcome to the forum.

There is no Win7 driver available for the monitor.  It appears that the monitor is older.  Therefore, you may not be able to get it to work with the computer.

Re: Windows 7 and Pavilion f1703

Interesting. I hooked the computer up to a Dell CRT that's probably 12 years old, and it recognized that monitor. Are you saying Dell produces better products than HP? Why wouldn't HP make sure its products are always compatible?

Re: Windows 7 and Pavilion f1703

I had the same problem with a HP printer C310a.  The system would not let me install it and took it back to Best Buy, twice and even their Technicians could not get the printer to install.  They gave me a new printer (same model) and still had the problem.  This is not the first time I have had an HP printer not install on a HP computer.

Second HP printer would not install either so they let me return it and I have since installed a Canon and a Kodak printer without any problems.

Hi,

what happens if you boot in 'safe mode'?
Maybe you can change the resolution to a mode that is recognized by the monitor then.

Re: Windows 7 and Pavilion f1703

Interesting problem. I still have this monitor and it works just fine on my Win7 computers. Maybe because I have pro 64?
