I currently have the same problem for the second time. the first time, HP case managers decided to fix it out of warranty but now the are stating that this is not an issue to them. they lack the loyalty and customer satisfaction we all deserve.
I've been speaking with my California state recall division and they state, if we come together and write a letter to HP and your current state, Hp will be force to issue a recall for this know defect. All it takes is 5-10 people to follow this process and we'll Have HP backed up into a corner and force them to repair our devices for free or issue full refunds.
Thank you
Manny Rosales

Well, looks like you can add one more to the list. The exact same thing happened to me last night, just past the two year mark. So I called HP today and they flat out deny there is an issue with these mother boards, and basically told me mine is out of warranty, there is no problems with our mobo, so we are doing nothing for you. Even after I told them of this thread and many others about the failures of these boards they still denied the issue, and even went as far as telling me info I read on line is unreliable, so I guess that means their own support forum as well. Well I will NEVER buy another hp product as long as I live!!! This is total bs!
Can anyone suggest a better replacement board I can use in this pc that would be a direct replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would like to know if there has been any one who has resolved this issue? Has HP decided this is a high failure item? anyone know what the problem or failure that is happening in this mother board circuit itself? I have purchased used replacement board and processor from on line, (eBay) and find the same problem in this board, I have done same troube shooting as others with no solution to the problem, I am contacting HP also, see these post below, there is no solution or what can be replaced on the board to fix it, this is a high dollar item ($200.00) and hard to find, there are some refirb items in China but only a 30 day warranty,,, get back to me... I know there has to be some of these models sitting around un- repairable... a6300f ..HP napa GL8E a6300f MCP73M01H1 I hope someone will email and network with me on this issue at.
Thanks, John [text removed for privacy]

No I did not. HP will not stand behind thier products, I do not want to spend the money to replace the pc board with another one that is going to also fail. HP is fully aware of this issue, yet they deny there is a problem. I will NEVER buy another HP product! So at the moment I am using an old pc I got from a friend, it's not very good, but at least it's something to use until I can get a good pc from a reputable company

I am checking to see if anyone tried.... with any success???
AMIBIOS Recovery bootblock:
1. Copy a known working BIOS image for your board to a floppy and rename it to AMIBOOT.ROM.
2. Insert the floppy in your system's floppydrive.
3. Power on the system while holding CTRL+Home keys. Release the keys when you hear a beep and/or see the floppy light coming on.
4 . Just wait until you hear 4 beeps. When 4 beeps are heard the reprogramming of the System Block BIOS went succesfull, so then you may restart your system.
Some alternative keys that can be used to force BIOS update (only the System Block will be updated so it's quite safe):
CTRL+Home= restore missing code into system block and clear CMOS when programming went ok.
CTRL+Page Up= restore missing code into system block and clear CMOS or DMI when programming went ok.
CTRL+Page Down= restore missing code into system block and do not clear CMOS and DMI area when programming went ok
Btw: the alternative keys work only with AMIBIOS 7 or higher (so for example an AMI 6.26 BIOS can be only recovered by using CTRL+Home keys).
