I have a e9280t with a 21.5" HP LCD Screen w/ Nvidia GT220 video card, and my screen goes blank about 5-7 times a day and I get a error message that says Nvidia Kernel Driver error 186.75. What does this mean. Can someone help me with this. I checked through the computer update driver in the control panel and on the Nvidia website and both say my Driver is up to date and working properly. This is getting annoying. HP online tech support said to do a Full System recovery but everytime I have done this on a computer it has not worked right after that. PLEASE HELP.

I'm almost 100% sure it's the nvidia drivers causing this as I had the same issues with an nvidia 8800 GTS card and older drivers

Try the link below. The latest drivers are 191.07 . Uninstall the current ones, reboot pc and install this one. Keep in my mind that these are for the Vista 32bit OS, if you need the drivers for vista64 or windows 7 then go to nvidia.com and click Download Drivers on the top left.

Ok, thanks for the answer. I had to download it from NVIDIA"S website but it does even more now. Is it worth it to do a full system recovery like HP tech says. Will it work? Thanks.

Before any driver upgrade, you should uninstall all of the nvidia graphics drivers until it says Standard VGA in its spot, then do the driver upgrade.

Before doing a system recovery, I would suggest uninstall all of the nvidia graphics drivers on your system (uninstall the first one.  when you reboot and windows installs a driver automatically, uninstall that one and tell the operating system to delete it by checking the box.  Keep doing this until you can't uninstall anymore), then doing a driver recovery by going to Start->All Programs->PC Help & Tools->Recovery Manager.  Do a driver recovery on the nVidia graphics driver and follow the instructions from there.

Ok, tried it and it didnt work. It actually has only done it once today, right after i did it. Instead of 5-6 times. Thanks for the help. Of you can think of anything else please  let me know.

I have the same darn problem. What the heck is going on with these new computers..sure glad I spent over $2500 on a computer that doesn't work. Have you contacted HP about this problem?

I have no idea what is going on with them. I also spent over $2500.00 on this computer. HP said to do a full system recovery. but everytime I have done this to a computer it has never worked right. If I find a repair I will let you know asap and please do the same. Thanks and have a happy thanksgiving.

I just tried it and it says my system is up todate. Dont know man this is driving me insane. I bought a e9180t and 4 days after getting it HP techs support to me to return it for a new one and this is the one they shipped and nothing but problems out of it. I dont get it, i have never had any problems out of an HP before. Thanks man and big kudos and Happy Thanksgiving.

Send it back if it is not to late. I have the same problem and HP cant fix it. I have spent over a week with HP tryinh to resole the proble they cant. My computer is going back tomorrow.
