gpu upgrade issues

so i got the asus HD 7750 gpu. installed on computer hp p610f. no issues. went through the calibration yada yada yada. desktop background is beautiful. videos are crisp. diablo 3 (after a huge hiccup in their installer) ls working fine. here's my issue. most of my comp menus (ctrl+alt+del screen, start menu, control panel menu, security suite window etc) as well as all internet screens in firefox have no color in the background. nearly zero color at all. i see black letters just fine, some blue lettering, but most of the format coloring is absent. makes it nearly impossible to navigate. i switch to safari and i don't have this issue (but i'm partial to firefox and i need to be able to nav my system menus). . any idea what the issue is? i've gone through all the calibrations again and cant seem to fix the issue. i was told the integrated graphics would automatically be turned off once the bios was switched to pciex. help!

Hi,

Please post the HP product number for your PC.

When a video card is installed, the bios will automatically disable the on board video. That is why you need to switch the cable to the video card. Use a native cable (VGA, HDMI or DVI) without using adapters.

Review this AMD article for the 7700 series video cards.

Re: gpu upgrade issues

its a pavillion P6120f.  i installed an Asus hd7750 gpu.  everything works fine, EXCEPT for the missing color in the system menus and online.  i had to use an adapter to get my vga cord to attach to the gpu as i don't have any other option when connecting to my monitor.

Hi,

VGA is analog and the the DVI-D out on the 7750 is digital.   That would be a no go for sure.

What is the make of the video card?

What ports are on your monitor?

Re: gpu upgrade issues

all the info on the card is on this link

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121633

The monitor, as far as i know, only has the vga port.  it's an emachines LE1799.

the card came WITH the adapter for dvi to vga.  don't know why they would include it if it didn't work.

everything works just fine, the desktop background is crisp and clear, videos work, video games work (even brand new ones like diablo 3).. it's just the system menus and (firefox specifically) browser windows that are void of color.  i also think the tool bar at the bottom of the screen is missing it's normal blue color.  it's white/clear.  it would look like if you took this page we are typing on, removed all color and visible buttons/links, and all that is left is the black and blue lettering.  apple safari browser works just fine, but i use firefox, and need to be able to navigate my system menus.

Hi,

Does IE work OK? If yes, then you have a issue with firefox which I suspect since Safari works OK
