Re: hdmi wont connect from laptop to tv

hi

thanks for that

so i tried it and F3 turned the laptop monitor off

when i turned it back on the lap top recognised my tv hdmi,

if i go to display settings monitor 2 pops up as toshiba tv.

any way even though it recognises it the screen is still blank and no sound is there.

fn and f5 does nothing

if i press windows and p i get the option of

computer only

duplicate

extend

projector ony

should i be clicking any of these?

thanks for any help you send my way

Re: hdmi wont connect from laptop to tv

[ Edited ]

In theory, selecting the desktop mode from either the "Display Settings" or "Windows + P" should do the same thing. If you select (click) and accept;

Computer Only = active display will be on your laptop only

Duplicate = active display on both laptop and TV with same display

Extend = active display on both laptop and TV with an extended desktop

Projector Only = active display will be on your TV only

You may need to change the audio output device in the Control Panel to HDMI to get sound on the TV.

I would recommend to connect to TV before booting the laptop.
