Assuming the device does have speakers, try the following:

 

Control Panel > Sound > Playback > Select the Monitor (Click to highlight it)

Properties > and under "Device Usage" > Enable the Device

Configure > Conduct the tests...

If the Tests are successful, you can "Set Default" to set the speakers as your default speakers.
