how do I hook up 7.1 speakers to a s5xt ("7.1 speaker capable" when it only has 3 audio ports?

I chose the HP s5 series over the competition because it clearly had labelled on the site that the s5z and s5xt are 7.1 capable. However, upon receiving it, I find it has 3 rear audio ports. I cannot easily plug into the front one as the cable is too short, but that should be the same as the green one on the back anyway. Why does it say 7.1 for the audio card when it doesn't seem to do 7.1?

S5xt with onboard video and sound
only change in the configuration was a TV tuner
I did some more research, and it looks like it uses a Cupertino/Cupertino2 system board. This is a 5.1 board. The product description is wrong.
