hp pavillion p7-1254 w/ hp w2207 "monitor going to sleep" seconds after startup

6 week old Hp Pavillion p7-1254 desktop hooked up to my Hp w2207 monitor.  Monitor says
"monitor going to sleep" almost immediately after power on.

 

Windows 7 operating system, AMD Radeon H 06530D graphics. Using wired keyboard & mouse.

 

All was still working fine a few days ago when hopped on to check email.  Haven't used the PC much, otherwise

because of busy schedule... been using laptop.  (of course took day off work to finally get creative with the new
PC, and monitor won't stay awake) ARGH

 

Any help would be so appreciated!

Hi,

 

Your PC appears to be using dual graphics.

 

Try connecting the monitor to a different DVI port on the back of your PC. If you are connected to the video card DVI port then switch to the motherboard DVI port. 

 

Use a straight DVI cable and don't use any adapters.
