Hi, I just purchased an HP P7-1254 desktop PC. Turns out it has an integrated video card and I would like to get a separate dedicated video card. The motherboard has one PCIe x16 slot available. The specs says it is "2 speed".
Here is the spec sheet on the PC:

What would be the best card I could get, that would work with the system as it is now?
Thank you. ![]()

Hi,
What processor is installed in your PC? I ask this question as it's possible to "team" the on board video with a specific AMD video card. I don't know for sure that HP has enabled this functionality in your particular model.
Review this AMD dual graphics article the click on the Desktop tab.

Hi,
AMD indicates that "dual graphics" should work using a discrete AMD graphics card such as cards listed in the chart. Be sure that the card of choice will work with the 300 watt power supply in your PC. Otherwise I can suggest other cards that will work with a 300 watt PSU.
If you are into gaming then most video cards that do work with a 300 watt power supply are not gaming quality.

You could contact Hp to inquire about upgrading to their modified HD7670. It only requires 300watt power supply. Its not bad for gaming. I can run most games with mid to high settings.

Hi there nymus2012,
Thanks for the comment. I looked up the spec's for the HD7670 and what I found was it says it needs a 450W power supply. ![]()

Right, 450 watt. sorry. Anyway, Hp has modified the 7670 on my pc to run at 300 watts. I am sure that they could help with that request.
