Hi,
There are many differnet HP a3130 models so the exact product number would be more helpful.
From what I could find at Visiontek, most of the X1300 video cards require a 250-300 watt power supply.
I suspect that the power supply in your PC is not big enough to power up the video card. Open up your PC and read the label on the power supply.

i had a feeling that was the case im sure with these models they are all 180watts
annoyingly the power supplys for these are very small and slim hard to get a upgrade.
could i put this motherboard in a mini atx with a more chunky power supply ?

Hi,
Thanks for posting the HP s3130.uk model number. Your PC only has a 160 watt power supply so I suspect that is the reason why your PC will not run that video card.
Try clearing the CMOS. There is an outside chance that the card might work but then you run the risk of causing PC or video card damage.

altho 160w is abit far off what this card needs.
what would you reccoment about putting this motherboard in another mini atx case ?
im still abit confused as to what power plug(pins) are needed for this motherboard
