unexpected pop-up of monitor settings

Every once in awhile the monitor's setting menu will appear on my screen. I do not do anything to male it happen. What would someone suggest that I do?

It seems to be the beginning of a defect menu button.
The only solution would be to disable or repair it.

It is what I came to find - the button may be going a bit senile. I ordered a new 24" Viewsonic so out with the 23 and in with the 24. That solves this problem.
