I have a vs17e that works fine on my old computer which is running windows xp. Purchased a new computer with windows vista 64 bit version has Ati 4850 video card and the monitor says no vga signal. Do I need a new driver for the monitor or just a new monitor for the whole system. Thanks for any help

Re: vs17e

Sounds like the Windows Setting are set to an incompatible resolution/refresh rate.

Turn off the PC.

With the monitor connected, turn on the PC.

Do you see any startup screens?

If so, one quick solution is to connect another monitor, set the resolution to 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz and then hot swap the monitor (unplug the old one, plug in the vs17). After you have done that, restart the PC.

Re: vs17e

I got another monitor that is working and the same thing happens when I connect the new computer to it. Think now that there is something wrong with the video card as I have used different cables and still get the same result. Thanks for the help
