w22 Monitor does not go to sleep properly.

I am using a HP Pavilion m7747c Desktop System with a HP w22 22" Widescreen monitor that came with the system. I am using the preinstalled Vista Home Premium as my operating system. The video card is the Geforce 7500LE that came with the system.

 

The problem is, when the monitor should go to sleep, it stays on and alternates red, green, blue, yellow colors over and over. I have the latest drivers for the monitor and video card. I have also checked the settings on the monitor itself to insure the power management setting is correct. I would appreciate any help or input on this problem. Thanks!

Does the computer remain in sleep mode?  When the monitor is in sleep, button should turn amber or blue when its turned on.  I was not aware of red/green color.  Are they coming from the same button?  Is the screen alternating the colors?
