I have an HP e9280t with a HP wireless mouse+keyboard. I'm finding that (despite new batteries..) the Wireless Mouse freezes after 10-30 sec of use. Sometimes turning it off, then on (via the small slider switch on the Mouse underside) temporarily restores function, but then it freezes again shortly thereafter.
When the mouse freezes, I notice the red laser light viewable on base) appears to have gone out as well.
Also, I'm a little baffled as to why this wireless mouse has on the bottom of it an "Off/Of" switch and a separate "Connect" button, when most other mice I have "just work" and don't require an "On/Off" switch or "Connect" button.
For what its worth, the wireless keyboard, on the same USB dongle, appears to work correctly throughout the mouse "freeze" events.
Does anyone have any ideas, work-arounds? Meanwhile, I've had to switch to another wireless mouse I had lying around (a Microsoft 3000) which oddly enough seems to work just fine...

Sorry for the long lapse, as I just haven't gotten back to this for a while. My BIOS version is 5.24 and my motherboard ID is TRUCKEE v.1.04E01.
I'm still experiencing this problem, where the HP Mouse freezes after approx 5 seconds of correct operation, though the combo wireless keyword does appear to continue functioning. I'm still interesting in fixing this, so ideas on fixing this will be welcome. Perhaps a BIOS upgrade is the solution?? If so, I'm not sure how to do this, but am willing to try once I get instructions and a source for a new BIOS image etc. thanks in advance.

Update the bios to version 5.29.
I have the same PC and motherboard and I am running bios version 5.29.
Replace the battery in the mouse and then try a different channel.
