Pavilion 23-b319
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Can not boot Pavilion 23-b319. Powers up to a black screen with NO beep sounds.

This started as an occasional non-boot symptom, but now will not boot at all.

All other functions appear normal:  power supply light remains on, power button lights up, fan is constant, hard drive spins, optical drive can open and disks sound as spinning.

What I have tried:

Power supply brick has been tested.

Hard drive has been pulled (for data recovery) and is confirmed working.

CMOS has been reset, battery replaced with new.

When single 8GB RAM stick is removed, I get 5 beeps, a pause and patten is repeated.

Can anyone familiar with this model  confirm if these beeps are indicating ram failure or motherboard failure?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

@q59, welcome to the forum.

The first component that comes to mind when I see these symptoms is the power supply unit (PSU).  However, here is a guide that will help you troubleshoot the hardware to see if it is working properly.  Some of the diagnostics are done from UEFI so the computer doesn't have to boot.
