I went into NETPLWIZ and clicked on HOMEGROUPUSER$ and clicked on OK without  changing the password.

Now when I try to log in, the system is asking me for the  HOMEGROUPUSER$ password which I never changed from the default password.

Is there any way to recover the password without redoing the entire system over?

Thanks in advance...

Hopefully, the information in this MS thread will help:  Where can I find my homegroup password?

I am still in the login screen and unable to login.

So I can not get to the start menu.

Any other ideas?

That MS thread required you to go to another PC that was a member of the same HomeGroup and do the fix from there.

Did you try that?

Sorry, I don't use HomeGroups, so I can't provide anything else.

You would probably do better checking the MS forums for help on HomeGroup problems -- since it is their application.
