When i put a blank DVD into my drive it comes up on the computer as a blank CD and i cannot figure why does anyone know what i should do?

  I have done some coping today with Sony  DVD+R  with no trouble then suddenly it stopped accepting

any disk I put in, can anyone tell me what to do  Please
