We just bought the HP TouchSmart 600-1120 Desktop PC and now we've found that we can't play FFXIV on it because it has the wrong video card.  It needs a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 video card.

Can we change the card?  Will it mess up the touch screen?

This model does not support GPU upgrading. The touchsmarts use integrated GPUs and do not have the expansion slots necessary on the motherboard for adding a video card.

There is no way to install GFX cards in that computer.

What about a ATI Radeon 2900 series card?

Well, it's only been 2 days.  I guess I'll go try and exchange the computer.  Frustrating that the newest shiniest computer won't play the newest shiniest game.  My fault for being distracted by the all in one touchscreen 😞

Thank you.

Just for the record... it's not supported but it IS possible. Depending on the motherboard inside. If it came with a MMX card, you can install another MMX card (with a lot of effort - there are like 50 screws and panels to remove to get to it). If you do though, HP will not support the new config.

I am an HP employee expressing my own opinion.

Are you sure about this? I believe I'm having the same EXACT issue as this guy, I'm not able to play FFXIV on my new computer, but mines an hp Touchsmart 600-1205t. On the website that gives me my specifications it says theres 1 PCI slot available, but correct me if I'm wrong. If its true that I cant upgrade my graphics card, then I'll officially believe that HP is the #1 worst computer manufacturer in the whole world. They expect me to be satisfied by the Intel(R) HD Graphics card?

I know for a fact the 300-1025 (my model) DOES in fact have an MXM 1 card slot, and does support upgrading the video card.

The top left side of the board is where the MXM expantion slot is. I opened the back of my case, and sure enough, the card slot is there.

Correction. The MXM slot is MXM 3.0 TypeA, not MXM 1.

Chiefkyle,

So what's next for you?  Are you looking for a MXM 3.0 card?
