I have been having crashes with Nap Total War. The game will start and then the video dies, the computer does not crash, just the screen goes blank. I had this before and a new driver from ATI cured it. This time the problem came about right after a MS upgrade in mid January. I have put on the very latest driver from ATI and no luck. I have an ATI Radeon 4650. I have, as stated, upgraded all drivers and no help. Could it be hardware? I am quite frustrated.

Hi,
It sounds like hardware. What model HP PC are you using? How to Find the HP Model Number
However, try updating the DirectX drivers.
Have you made any other hardware changes to your PC?
Check the game manufacturer's web site for updates and patches.

No other hardware changes. Also, the video driver is from ATI's web site, both HP and MIcrosoft are behind, but the software on those sites had the same problems

Herb,
Look in the Event Viewer log for critical errors.
Download GPU-Z (it's a freebie) and log the temperatures of your video card.
You might try reseating (remove and replace) the video card and memory dimms.
