Need help/tips on upgrading GFX and PSU for p6754y PC

Hi, I want to upgrade my computer (Hp Pavillion P6000 Series, Model No. p6754y) so I can play new games such as Skyrim or Battlefield 3 on ultra. I dont know too much about computers and this would be my first time upgrading mine. Here are the parts I have in mind.

PSU

GFX

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

Please let me know if these would work well with my computer or if you have any other reccomendations/tips instead.

Thanks for the help

Bloeks, welcome to the forum.

I like your choice in both instances.  However, there are no measurements for the card in the specs. I suggest staying under 9" in length. This will normally assure that the card will fit.

Here is card that would do what you need that should fit:

If you want to use the Sapphire card, go to their website and check the measurements. You should measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one that you chose. This will assure that you won't have to return it.

Re: Need help/tips on upgrading GFX and PSU for p6754y PC

Thank you for the fast response. I opened up my pc and measured the available space and the GFX you recommended will fit easily. The only problem I have is that my PSU measures at 5.9" x 5.5" x 3.4" and the PSU I had in mind won’t fit. After looking for a bit, I found this PSU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182200

This PSU measures 5.91" x 3.39" x 5.51" and I was wondering if it will fit or if there is a better PSU that matches my exact measurements that I should purchase instead.

Thanks for the help,

Jloeks

Hi,

The PSU and video card should fit.

Try this link is your PC ready for Battlefield 3?

Most PCs are not ready for BF3 and it usually means a faster video card and a bigger power supply.
