Upgrading motherboard & casing: p6130y

[ Edited ]

For about a year, i've had no troubles with my video card. Just until April 2011, its been getting a lot slower, and slower. Then this september, i upgraded my video card to a radeon 6450, and as well as a 500watt powersupply. Ever since that installation. I've been getting flickering screens, my graphics are spiking out of everything. I've gotten an occasional blue screen once in a while. I was told that my motherboard was not getting enough voltage going through to my videocard. My driver is updated to catalyst 11. And the error i get is amdkmdap.

Model: p6130y
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm)9750 Quad-Core Processor 2.40 GHz
Memory: 8 GB
64-bit OS (Windows Vista)
Radeon 6450

500W power supply

M2N78-LA (Violet) motherboard

I am looking to change my case to the coolermaster silencio 550 mid tower.

But i have no idea what to buy as a motherboard, but the one that caught my eye is:
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX34153

(Only reason why i use that website, is because i'm still a student and i'd perfer to buy somewhere local, lol).

What I also want to know, since my PC is roughly 2-3 years old, still has ddr2, would i have to buy a set of ram of DDR3 to work?

Re: Upgrading motherboard & casing: p6130y

Isnt my 9750 processor, a AM2+ socket? The only one i found was

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=40887&vpn=K9N6PGM2-V2&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar

And, the only fault about this, is that its 2 sockets for ram, for a potential 4gb's of ram.

After digging around, isnt the http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75M_PRO/#MSL

an FM1?

Hi,

Did ASUS certify the CPU and memory that you want to use? Contact ASUS for confirmation.

Re: Upgrading motherboard & casing: p6130y

Well considering that i'm using
http://www.meetgadget.com/gadget/19283/HP+Pavilion+p6130y

After looking around on the asus website you've sent. I looked around and tried to find any in my area, and so far no luck.

M2N68 PLUS
M3N78-VM are to seem to be the only viable ones.
