Upgrding grahpics card for p7-1042

Hi, im looking to upgrade my graphics card and im not too sure about all the technical stuff. the curretn graphics card im looking at is:http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-100312-3SR/dp/B0055Y66A4/ref=sr_1_18?s=... im looking to do some heavier gaming.

Note:im very new to upgrading my computer and im not too sure what all the techinichal terms mean,so bear with me

Hi,

The Radeon 6950 is almost 10.5" in length.  You might have trouble getting it to fit.

Open up your PC and do some measuring in parallel with the PCI-E x16 slot to see how long of a video card will fit. The slot adjacent to the PCI-E x16 slot needs to be vacant. Look carefully at the motherboard and makes sure that components on the motherboard don't interfere with the installation of the video card.  The PCI-E x16 slot is the long back slot in the middle of the motherboard.

You are also going to need a 600 watt power supply such as this Corsair CX600.

Hi,

Do some measuring so that we know for sure what will fit. 

This Radeon 6870 is 8.7" and would have a better chance of fitting in your PC.

alright,i will measure in the morning.i just wanted to know my options beforehand

alright,i measured everything and it seems the card itself witll fit,though im unsure if it will hit with anything on my motherboard.i may go with the shorter graphics card.
