Will a nvidia GTX 460 fit on m8430f motherboard?

First let me say I am an avid gamer and looking for best card I can get that will work on my motherboard. I just bought a GTX 470 graphics card and got home to put it in to only find it was too long. It was going into the connections for the DVD/CD drives. It says it is 9.5 inches and the GTX 460 is 8.25 inches. Also it being a dual slot card there is some sort of wiring harness connection in that open slot by the PCIe slot, will it fit with that connection being there. I would really like to get that graphics card but not certain I can make it work. I already upgraded the power supply to 700watts. Hope that was not for nothing. If this card will not fit can someone suggest the best graphics card for gaming that I can get that will fit on that motherboard? I was running a 8800GT OC before but it gave out on me but otherwise a good card but was hoping to upgrade a bit while I am in the market for new card. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Wayne welcome to the forum.

As an avid gamer myself, I can understand your desire to upgrade to a mid-level video card.  The double profile cards are normally 1.5" wide.  You should be able to measure the width of the space available to see if the card will fit.  If the harness is plugged into the connector directly in line with the PCIE x1 slot, you may be able to simply route it so it doesn't interfere.  If it touches the card, unless it is in the fan area, it won't hurt anything.

The GTX 460 should fit.  I installed the GTX 460 in my HP PC along with a new power supply.
