My Compaq presario sg 3200 uk has a Windows experience index base score of 3.2 that's 3.2 on gaming and 3.4 on the graphics. How can I improve the gaming side i.e.. which graphics card to purchase etc and my total power is rated at only 250w

You need to upgrad :-

1. PSU ( Power supply unit )

2. GPU . Graphics card.

You can go with GPU:- ATI XFX HD 5770

Power supply :- Coolermaster GX 550W Power supply.

Yah sure.

1. Nvidia 9600GT 1GB or

2. XFX HD 4670 1GB SDDR-III

Both need min 400W Power Supply with 6Pin connector.

Hi ddenrau,

Review the ATI and NVIDIA performance specifications. Look at the memory bandwidth specifications and the DirectX level support.

What card you are suggesting him all cards is bad in performance nw, supos he bought card suggested by you (in your given link) like  8400GS card, 7200GS card  , can he play new games in beter performce and beter FPS in game? All card is usles nw and money waste only. Beter dont buy that cards play wth inbuild memory. So never evr go with thats cards , atlis you can go with 9600GT or abov cards, all cards isnt much high price you can easly buy that cards.

He has pci x16 1.0 slot  and GeForce 9600 GT require PCI-E 2.0 x16   ,, u can check same from Nvidia link..
