wrong i have upgrade to a t6670 and it steps down to 1200ghz when doing normal stuff and my battery life actually increased by 30%over celeron 575

This is NOT true in most cases, as most cpu's are replaceable/upgradeable.  Go to ebay and search for your motherboard. Look at the pics this sometimes helps to see if your laptop has a socket.

 

HP reps don't want you to 'upgrade' just replace with new!
