Thanks for the tip about the hidden features in BIOS! I was able to go in and disable the warning and the halt on error for the rear fan not detected fault- an easy workaround to live with. There is no power to the the rear fan pinouts on my motherboard- clearly a common defect on these boards. That being said, the case fan really isnt necessary to begin  with, but I just hooked it up to my power supply and bypassed the motherboard all together. I never have to deal with this error again.
