Most likely, yes, it has failed -- since the test indicates that and you can not boot from it.

If you want to be sure, you could do the following:

1) Remove the drive from this PC

2) Connect the drive to another PC using a USB-to-HDD adapter cable

3) Download and install a partitioning tool:  Free Partition Manager Software - AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard

4) Use the option in the tool to Check the drive -- it should fail.

Good Luck

HI, thanks for replying really quickly. I know how to remove the hard drive from my laptop but I don't have the USB-to-HDD adapter cable so do you think I should just get a new hard drive because I need my laptop working asap. And if so will this hard drive work on my laptop (MY LAPTOP IS A HP PAVILION G6-1241ea) here is the link the hard drive I'm going to get http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262244548739?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Also one more thing yesterday I turned on my laptop and it did boot up into windows but it was VERY SLOW. So I went into safe mode and got all my files backed up. Does this mean anything or my hard drive is just broken??

THANKS!!

That HDD will work fine. "It would be even better if it was 7200 RPM."

Being very slow is another indication that the HDD is getting ready to fail.

You where lucky to be able to backup your files.
