Pavilion 500-267c
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The hard drive on my HP Pavilion 500-267c already (I've only used the computer for 1 year) has a bad block, so I am looking for a replacement.

My questions:  1) What size hard drive must I purchase?  Not capacity, but physical size.    2) How many bays are available?  I would really like to purchase 2 drives and install them both inside the tower.

Thanks.

The system requires at least a 1TB hard drive. Example of what is used:  SEAGATE 1TB 7.2K RPM SATA III 3.5 INCH LARGE FORM FACTOR LFF BARRACUDA NCQ ADVANCED.  Although you did not want a suggestion concerning capacity, I will still suggest a max of 2TB. Anything larger requires special formatting parameters.

Now about adding a drive.... you will need to inspect the chassis.  At this time, I was unable to determine the drive cage configuration.  This example page is very generic, it shows both styles (single and multi).

Thank you. That was very helpful.  I didn't ask about capacity because 1TB is far more capacity than I need. If you hadn't warned me, I'd have bought a smaller capacity drive.

Thanks.
