Hp Pavilion SlimLine Diagnostics BIOHD-8 (Harddrive) problem

My HP Pavilion SlimLine (running vista) wouldnt start up one day. I tried to do a system restore but it wouldnt load up it just stopped at a blue screen (No words just blank) But i could still move my mouse around. So i decided to do the diagnostics and it gave me the BIOHD-8 Error code and also said "BIOHD-4 Unitialized/corrupt boot structure detected" And i tried to do the "Repair your computer" By hitting f8 but it brought me back to the blue screen i got when i tried a system restore. I have the recovery discs but they do the exact same thing as trying a system recovery. My computer is a few years old so sending it in is not an option. i just want to know if i can somehow format the Partition and re-install windows vista.

Re: Hp Pavilion SlimLine Diagnostics BIOHD-8 (Harddrive) problem

That means you need a new hard drive. The drive must be equal to or larger in GB. I would not suggest anything larger than 2T  to avoid problems.

I would get this adapter and check the drive on another system. Your data files might be OK.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served.
Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
