Hello everyone,

I have been searching for a manual for the MSI MS-7778 motherboard with no luck...does anybody have a link or idea where I could find this? Specifically, I am looking for the cable connections...like the hard drive light connection on the header.

Thanks,

CN

This might just do it...I will have to disassemble my PC and see if that is where I connected the HDD LED. I transplanted my motherboard into an HTPC and have struggled to get the HDD light to work properly...

Thanks, I will check and reply back soon.

I have a Pavilion P6 2310ea which uses the MSI MS-7778 Jasmine motherboard and I'd like to add some extra USB 2.0 connections to the rear panel. I already have a couple of spare header-to-USB-socket cables which should do the job; they look like this.

Two problems though -- the HP documentation doesn't describe the pinouts of the USB headers on the motherboard so I'm not sure if this header cable is actually wired up correctly and from looking at the not-very-good pictures and diagrams on the HP website it seems like the motherboard USB 2.0 headers are not the same -- 2x6 pins with row 5 missing rather than the "standard" 2x5 pin layout with one pin missing as in the picture above.

Hi Nojay. I have probably just went through the same path of research that you have. There is no documentation available for those 2x6, F_USB1 & F_USB2 headers. It is quite possible that those USB headers are proprietary front-panel USB headers, or some unrealized expansion device. Your best bet might be to buy a USB 2.0 card with USB headers on the card.

Dave_Carta's snippet here, had a similar answer here from HP at some point.

This answer is not correct. The connections go across the pins, perpendicular to the manner that is shown in the diagram previously posted.
