I have an HP Pavillion Elite HPE 380 and I decided to upgrade my hard drive to larger drive.   I purchased a WD 2TB 2gb Black Drive and installed it.  When I check in Disk manager it shows that i have the full size disk formated and available.  But when I check Windows explorer I only have 1 TB available.  Can you help me with this .  How do I make the full formated disk space available?

Hi jlwaite,

I have done some research into your issue. When you check your disk management are you seeing any partitions? The link below will show you how to check that. What file system did you set the new HDD to FAT32 or NTFS? Right click on your drive and then click properties.

Your full drive will not show up as 2TB because of the way that manufacturers create their specs. See the link below for more information on that. That being said you should be seeing more then 330GB

I have found a tool that you can use but it either format your HDD or get it ready to format properly to NTFS.
