I just re-installed Windows XP SP3 onto my son's Compaq Presario 2023 WM and there were drivers missing. Some of these were downloaded on-line via my computer searching for them, others from an MSI DVD. I am still missing 2 drivers:
The ones for the SM Bus controller
and one for an unknown device.
I went to the download site recommended and was told to download the chipset driver first. this apparently has already been done.
Assistance, please. I'd like this computer to be pristine before Windows XP support ceases in 2014.

Please try the following driver first:

I used the fix previously recommended which did add the driver for the SM Bus controller. However,
There is an unknown device in my device manager without a driver.
I do check out the properties of this device and the device instance ID is ACPI\AWY0001\&DABA3FF&0
More help, please.

I have attached the driver you need below.
You will need to unzip it and manually install it, by clicking on the unk dev in the device manager, click on the driver tab, click on update driver, select the manual search and browse to the folder you unzipped with the driver in it.
The driver is also included in the chipset driver I posted.
