Upgrade the motherboard in a P2-1343W HP desk top computer.

Wanting to change mother boards if possible in this computer to increase the cpu speed to around 3.0gb and get some better usb ports 10/100/1000 if possible. Was told it was cheeper to replace mother board than purchace another computer? The current mother board is a APXD1-DM....Thanks in advance DR47

Did you know you also need to buy new CPU too ? Because

You may also need a new case to accomodate new PSU. All you can keep probably RAM and HDD and because it has Windows 8 pre-installed you have to talk with both HP and Microsoft how to transfer Windows license to new motherboard, othewise it won't run.

I don't know what 3.0gb you are talking about but your existing HDD runs at 3.0gb already and if you needed 1Gb, you can use  (or a similar one):

New computer here we come!!!! 😉  Its to bad I didn't have more input when I accquired this computer was kinda green at the time. Also the 3.0gb i mentioned; should have been, 3.0ghz or cpu speed, typo.  Thank again, DR47

As you can see, new computer may ending up better and no time consuming works. Given "time is money", buing new computer is much cheaper than upgrading a machine with NO upgrade path.
