Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Video card upgrade.

Is it possible to upgrade my current video card to a card which is open GL compatible with 256 videao ram and 1280 x 720 resolution

I use On1 version 10.5 photo software whic is a bit sluggish with my current video capability.

Any advice will be appreciated

@johnh48, welcome to the forum.

 

The newer video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mie-October 2012.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  The last cards not to require UEFI are the GTX 660/670's.

 

Here is a video card that will give you what you need.  However, it will require a power supply unit (PSU) upgrade, also.  I like Corsair products.  I suggest a modular PSU with at least 500W.  Almost any card that will meet your requirements will require a PSU upgrade.

While @old_geekster makes an excellent suggestion,  staying within your meager requirements does limit this reply.

ON1 Photo program has very basic needs, as listed here.   This card is slightly more than you requested, but would work with a 300W minimum PSU. It is Open GL 3
