Click on the missing network controller in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. Post the top string of characters you see there.
Those characters identify the model of the network card. With that info, I can send the link to the correct driver to you.

network controller Hardware ID# PCI\VEN_14E&DEV_4318&SUBSYS_00421737&REV_02
Ethernet Hardware ID# PCI\VEN_14E&DEV_1696&SUBSYS_12BC103C&REV_03

Do you have a wireless card in your machine? The first device is a Broadcom WLAN card with the 4313 chip.
You can try this driver for it:
The second one is your wired Broadcom NetXtreme NIC.
Try this driver for it. Accept the agreement. Download and install.

The only thing you can do is see if the unknown network controller device is still showing in your device manager. If it is, then the network driver didn't install.
You can try manually installing the driver by clicking on the network controller in the device manager. Then click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the browse my PC method for finding the drivers. Navigate to the C:\SWSETUP\sp47891 folder, and see if the driver will load that way.
If not, I don't have any other suggestions to try.
