2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter

Just ordered up an I7-2600.  The HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510t PC workstation comes with (or I selected) a 2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter.

Is this a dual head monitor card? I need to be able to run dual 23" LCD monitors.  The HP website upon ordering really isnt all that clear.

What does the card and who is the manufacturer?

IOTP,

It's not a dual head card.It is either or. DVI or VGA. VGA requires a dongle adapter on the DVI port. (not supplied). I was expecting dual head card and was disappointed when the desktop arrived. I believe it is an OEM card made for HP, but I didn't check that closely when I had the case opened. I don't know much about the DP port. Or hooking up with both DVI and HDMI. Maybe someone on the forum has tried DP or HDMI with DVI on dual monitors.

I know that on my 5750 I can use both the HDMI and DVI ports for dual monitors, I assume the same is true for the 5570.

Re: 2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter

I called into the HP Home sales center today.  When I did I believe I got Munmun in India.  She stated this had the "super adapter" to allow two DVI ports. I specifically asked that, and she said yes, 2 LCDs no problem.  We will see what happens when the PC gets here.  Else, I'll pull the video card and go with something else.

I am already pulling the 6GB ram and replacing it with 4x4GB sticks.  eBay here it comes. (look for it, same user-id).

Re: 2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter

It appears that I jumped the gun when I said that the 5570 is not a dual head. I should have said that the 1gb 5570 that is currently in my HPE 460z has 1 DVI port, 1DP Port, and 1 HDMI port. HWINFO32 says my card is ATI RADEON HD 5570 [HP]. I guess that means it is an OEM model made for HP. I googled the 5570 and see that some manufacturers have included both a DVI and VGA port on both the 1gb and the 2gb 5570 Radeon. Yours may have the dual monitor capability afterall.

I'd prefer to have 2 DVI outputs to two DVI monitors, so I am looking at the Radeon 5750

Update, I was able to use the DVI out and Display-Port to DVI adapter for dual displays.  All is working well so far.

Is your Display port to DVI adapter passive or active? What brand and model number of adapter are you using?

Re: 2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter

I am not sure on the passive vs. active, but I did use the standard dell 023NVR cable adapter found in eBay.  I've been using alot of them, simply because of the price. I do IT side work, and use the NVIDIA NVS295 as a standard video card in most of the OEM, HP, and Dell refurbs that i sell.  The NVS295 card does great, as its not a gaming card for say, but for office and home use, that want dual head LCDs, its fabulous.

Lately I have had nothing but problems getting ATI cards to behave in a Windows 7 64 Bit arena. The 3400 and 3600 series just were absolutely hell to get stabilized.

The HP in this PC, the AT Radeon HD5570 card seems to be great.  For me, I spend most of the day in office related apps, IE, and a few others.  Works well.

Re: 2GB DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter

jjusko,

I just connected an HDMI to DVI adapter cable from the Radeon HD 5570 to a second flat screen monitor. Works great. I'm not a gamer, so the HD 5570, which came with my HPE-460z, is just fine for my needs.

Thanks for the response,

Larry
