5 hardware beeps at startup

We have a HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF and tried to install a new graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4550, this is shown as accessories at HP's own site. When I put it in, I got 5 hardware beeps at startup, I removed the card again, but I still get 5 hardware beeps.

According to the manual, this beep code coresponds to the graphics card http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01960471/c01960471.pdf

what can I do? I have already tried to reseat the card, remove it completely, remove the RAM and harddisk, it still gives 5 beeps at startup.

Re: 5 hardware beeps at startup

Hi,

Use a flashlight and visually inspect the PCI-E x16 slot for crushed or touching connector socket pins.

Try clearing the CMOS.
