I wanted to take the time and make this post warning customers. I received my new Phoenix pc a couple days ago. Mine came with a Intel SSDSA2BW160G3H 160gb 320 series ssd. The stock firmware that comes with it. Version 0302 has a very serious problem. It can potentially and will most likely kill the ssd. If it happens. The drive will not boot or show only as 8mb available. HP has new firmware to fix this problem. I am not sure why it did not come with the upgraded firmware. My machine specifically is a H9-1110T. On the product page. I see no mention of this problem or the firmware link. If you google "intel 320 ssd 8mb bug". You will get tons of hits that will explain it in more detail. I seriously cannot stress this enough.
Customers need to know this and HP needs to be more aware. I expect they will be getting a ton of calls with these ssd's dying left and right. Since they are shipping with the old and problematic firmware. I have also written a review for my new pc. It is not posted yet but also mentions this problem. As for the new firmware. It fixes the following CRITICAL issues.
- Fixes an intermittent issue where the system cannot restart (boot) and displays "Boot device not found" after resuming from hibernation mode.
- Fixes an issue where data is not completely saved to the hard drive and is lost when the system is suddenly powered off.
Here is a link to the updated HP firmware fix. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloa

Can a mod sticky this or make someone aware at HP of this? That way they can put it under the product page under firmware/driver updates. This is a critical updated needed.

I have been trying to find someone who has been using a new HP Phoenix to see if they have any advice/problems/opinions about the system. I just ordered a Phoenix and should be getting it any day now. I have the i7 2600 with liquid cooling. I am really looking forward to getting this system - and I spent two-three
weeks researching and reading and the Phoenix seemed to be what I was looking for (and was cheaper than a comparable Alienware rig). I was just wondering how you like it, and if your temps are ok for your CPU (some reviews say the case is too small and everything is packed in there too tightly - or there is poor air flow). This was one of the reasons I went with liquid cooling. Because I wanted my rig to stay cool (plus I'm adding a better graphics card which might create some additional heat).
I would appreciate any info you have about the Phoenix like your post about the SSD.
Thanks

More feedback from your thread.

The case certainly has enough room to work with.
