Pavillion Desktop a6750a - Vista 64 bit OS
Periodiacally received 'AMD Raidxpert timeout' errors when burning a DVD. The process would abort without writing. After closing and restarting the burning program, the DVD would work properly. Suddenly after the last timeout error, the DVD burner would not recognize DVDs, only CDs. Also, it would cause my burning program to lockup until the blank DVD was removed. The DVD Burner is not recognizing DVDs, whether blank or commercial movie.
So far I have restored the system to earlier date, run hardware diagnostics (no problem detected), ran F9 repair from command prompt, uninstalled and reinstalled the DVD burner in 'Device Manager', and reinstalled DVD burning program.

Thank you for your quick response.
I downloaded and installed the Imgburn software and started it up in Safe Mode as instructed.
The program recognized the DVD Drive but would not recognize the disk. Same problem still exists.
I have ordered a ASUS DVD and CD Burner.
Thank you for your input.
